But a 32-year-old man from Howrah, West Bengal, died in a shocking incident after being beaten up by police for stepping out of the house to buy milk for his home, India Today informs.
The accident happened Wednesday. According to a story from The New Indian Express, the man’s wife claimed he died as a result of his injury after meeting a police lathi-charge who was “clearing a crowd” on the road.
On the other side, the police refuted these allegations and claimed the guy recovered from an older cardiac disease and died as a result of a heart attack.
Even journalists and doctors, who are permitted to travel during the lockdown, have been at the receiving end of police violence.
